FoLS Most Wanted!

Who are FoLS?

All parents, guardians and carers of children attending Lunsford Primary School are members of the Parents Association known as Friends of Lunsford Primary School (FoLS). FoLS is a UK registered charity (number 1174321) and all who help to run FoLS are volunteers. The group was re-formed in 2016 and founded by Sarah Cole (the then Chairperson), Naomi Keeling (the then Treasurer) and Faye Pearce (the then Secretary). We all work hard to raise additional funds for Lunsford Primary School with events such as the Summer Fair, Mother's Day Tea & Cake as well as other smaller events and applying for grants. Since 2017 FoLS were able to start using the funds raised to begin making a difference. The volunteer group meet regularly to plan events, discuss future projects and how to further support the children and staff at Lunsford Primary School. Every member is welcome to attend any meeting and offer suggestions.

The FoLS team are always grateful for help and more volunteers, no matter how much or how little you believe you can contribute, we welcome you. Enthusiasm is key, with many people great things can be achieved.

Here are some of the ways you can help and be part of the FoLS team;

  • Events

Serving tea and coffee, managing a stall at the fair, setting up or packing away, pre-ordering & collecting supplies as well as seeking raffle donations from local businesses are all ways you can help which can easily fit around other commitments.

  • Funding & Research

Do you know how to find a product for the cheapest price? Are you able to complete online research to identify available grants or can you complete an online grant application? Making the most of what we raise and securing much needed additional funds for other projects takes time but thankfully can be predominantly done online. With several people working together it provides many more opportunities while reducing the work done individually.

  • Administration & Organisation

As parents and carers we all possess the skill to be organised and we'd love for you to be part of the team. Perhaps you are also good with a computer, have experience in publishing documents, publicity or have a head for numbers and are a whizz with Excel. Even if a committee role is filled, we very much welcome any help to ease some of the time we spend on administrative tasks.

  • Creativeness

Do you have great ideas buzzing around in your head for raising funds or maybe a new event? Do you have a creative flair or ideas for prizes to give away at events? Being part of the FoLS team need not just be about the time you can give, fresh ideas and suggestions are always welcome.
