Open the link below to see the data for 2016. This shows extremely encouraging data regarding the attainment and progress our children make at Lunsford Primary School.

Achievement

We understand that pupil success is not just about brilliant SATs results. Success can also be found in completing a painting, learning a new song on the violin, getting better at spelling, or swimming a whole length. Whilst our 2016 academic results are impressive we believe that success isn't always big and showy but that it happens everyday in every classroom.

Our children work incredibly hard and we are rightly proud of them, everyday.

Analysis for KS1

These are very good results. They show that 93% of the children in Year 2 achieved at least the expected standard against the new, much tougher, National Curriculum in every subject and that at least a third of children exceeded this expectation. They represent some very pleasing results and show that the children in Year 2 have done extremely well. Although no national comparisons are available at the time of writing in Key Stage 1 we are delighted with them and are confident they will compare very favourably when such statistics become available.

Analysis for KS2

These are very good results. They show that 87% of the children in Year 6 achieved the expected standard against the new, much tougher, National Curriculum in Maths and 71% in Reading and 84% achieved the expected standard in Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation. They also show that 90% of children achieved the expected standard against the new, much tougher, National Curriculum in Writing. All our results are above the national averages. The most important statistic is perhaps the combined Reading, Writing and Maths figure which shows the percentage of children who reach the expected standard in all subjects. Our figure of 68% is 15% above the national average.

It is also worth noting that these assessments were based on the assumption that the children in Year 6 have completed 4 years of this new curriculum when they have, in fact, only completed two years.

Overall these are extremely pleasing results and give us much to celebrate. The children have worked extremely hard for these results and we should be rightly proud of their achievements. However a good school is one that is constantly reflective and always wants to improve. The school will continue to analyse these in depth and plans are in place to progress the breadth and depth of the curriculum as we prepare for September 2016 and beyond.
