Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Lunsford Primary School, we believe that every child is unique and valued. All teachers are teachers of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and we are committed to ensuring that every pupil receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.

We recognise that each child is on their own individual learning journey. Through high-quality teaching, inclusive practice and carefully tailored support, we strive to meet the needs of all learners, enabling them to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

Our Approach to SEND

We use our best endeavours to identify and meet the needs of children with SEND through a graduated approach to support. We work closely with pupils, parents, carers and external agencies to ensure that appropriate provision is in place and that progress is carefully monitored.

Our Policy for Inclusion and SEN and SEND Information Report explain:

  • How we identify children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • The provision, interventions and support available within school.
  • How we assess, monitor and review pupil progress.
  • How we work in partnership with parents and carers.
  • The support available through external agencies and services.

Section 12 of the SEND Information Report also provides links to a range of helpful websites and resources relating to different areas of need.
