Teaching and Learning

At Lunsford Primary School, we are a values-driven learning community committed to nurturing the whole child. We believe that every child deserves an engaging, inspiring and enriching education that develops confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Our broad and balanced curriculum provides opportunities for all children to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. We place great importance on sport, the arts and creative experiences, recognising the vital role they play in developing well-rounded individuals. Through high-quality teaching that is engaging, innovative and responsive to individual needs, we strive to ensure every child succeeds.

Learning extends beyond the classroom. We offer a wide range of educational visits, visitors and residential experiences that bring learning to life and help children develop independence, resilience and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Our school environment also provides rich opportunities for exploration and discovery. Alongside our Reception outdoor learning area, pupils benefit from access to our woodland setting, pond and wildlife area, which support outdoor learning and foster an appreciation of the natural world.

Partnership with parents and the wider community is at the heart of everything we do. We actively seek the views of children, parents and carers to help shape and improve our provision. Parent surveys are conducted regularly throughout the year, and pupil voice plays a central role in school development and self-evaluation, ensuring that our school continues to grow and evolve in response to the needs of our community.
