At Lunsford Primary School, we recognise the importance of ensuring that all children can access learning opportunities, whether they are learning in school or at home.
We are committed to providing appropriate support for families who may experience barriers to accessing digital learning. If a child does not have access to an appropriate device or internet connection, parents and carers are encouraged to contact the school so that we can discuss how we can support them.
Where appropriate, we may provide access to devices or alternative learning resources to help ensure that children can continue to engage with their education.
When remote learning is required, children will receive learning activities through the platforms and communication systems used by the school.
Learning will be designed to reflect our curriculum and will provide a balance of:
We aim to ensure that children continue to experience a broad and balanced curriculum. While some activities may need to be adapted to take account of learning at home, our curriculum intent and expectations remain consistent.
We recognise that digital learning can increase the amount of time children spend using screens. We encourage children to take regular breaks and include opportunities for reading, physical activity, creativity and other screen-free activities.
The wellbeing of our pupils remains central to our approach, and families are encouraged to contact the school if additional support is needed.
The safety of our pupils online is extremely important. Children and families are encouraged to follow our online safety guidance and acceptable use expectations.

Through effective use of technology, we aim to support learning, communication and inclusion while ensuring that children remain safe and supported.
At Lunsford Primary School, we want every child to remain connected to their learning and receive appropriate support when learning takes place away from school.
Where learning is provided remotely or at home, teachers will monitor children’s engagement and progress through the school’s usual assessment and communication processes.
Teachers will review children’s participation, completion of activities and responses to feedback to ensure that learning remains appropriate and accessible.
We understand that families may experience different circumstances and that children may sometimes need additional support to access learning.
If a child is not engaging with learning, the class teacher will make contact with parents or carers to:
If concerns continue, a member of the school leadership team may contact the family to work together on a plan to support the child’s engagement and wellbeing.
Our aim is to work in partnership with families to ensure that every child feels supported, included and able to continue making progress.
Remote Learning Charter for the schools in The Malling Partnership
Dear Lunsford Parents and Carers,
We recognise that there may be times when children need to continue their learning away from the classroom. We are committed to working in partnership with families to support children’s learning, wellbeing and progress wherever they are learning.
Our teachers provide learning activities that reflect our curriculum and are designed to help children continue developing their knowledge, skills and confidence. These activities may include a range of resources, including reading, writing, mathematics, creative tasks and opportunities for practical learning.
Learning resources and updates will be shared through the communication platforms used by the school. Families are encouraged to contact their child’s class teacher if they have any questions or need support accessing activities.
We understand that every family’s circumstances are different. While we encourage children to maintain a regular learning routine where possible, we also recognise the importance of balance, wellbeing and family time. Activities such as cooking, gardening, creative projects, playing games and exploring the world around them all provide valuable learning opportunities.
We encourage all children to continue practising key skills regularly, particularly:
Most importantly, we want children to remain curious, confident and engaged in their learning. Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Kind regards,
The Lunsford Primary School Team
