Personal, Social and Health Education is a crucial element of the school curriculum. Unless children are healthy, secure and confident in making relationships and able to make right choices for themselves they will not learn to be successful learners and achieve their best.
The school uses the widely respected SEAL resources to explore social and emotional aspects of life under the headings: New Beginnings, Getting On and Falling Out, Say No To Bullying, Going For Goals, Good To Be Me, Relationships and Changes.
Children receive health education appropriate to their age group and maturity and this covers the importance of basic hygiene, healthy diet, looking after teeth and hair, keeping safe (road sense and 'stranger danger') and simple ideas about growth and how the body changes throughout childhood.
The school has gained the Healthy Schools Award and is part of the Kent Healthy Schools Enhancement Model.
